DAY 9 of the 12 Day Holiday Hootenanny

OMG the stress! The tension! Taylor the Wonder Dog picked the winners. She came out of her diva-hood to go to work. The way we do it is I shake the names up in a canvas bag, then spread ‘em out on the floor and whichever ones Taylor sniffs are the winners. Okay, it’s not very scientific, and I do have to call her back a few times and mix the names up again, but she can’t read (I don’t think…hmmm…), so I figure she’s impartial. The other elves were busy tonight, so the task fell to Taylor and I think she performed to the utmost of her abilities.

Tonight’s winners are:

1. Jove Bell, “Indelible”–Tara

2. Lee Lynch, Winner’s Choice (“Beggar of Love,” “Swashbuckler,” “Old Studebaker”)–Gloria Dugger

3. Sacchi Green, Winner’s Choice (“Lesbian Cowboys,” “Time Well Bent,” “Lesbian Lust,” “Girl Crazy”)–Ruth Carson

4. Carrie Carr, “To Hold Forever”–Deej

5. Kristin Marra, “Wind and Bones”–Oksana

Oh, my goodness. That is some LUUUUUUV, friends. Have no fear! Tomorrow’s another day! And again, we’ve got 5 more for you. Hootenanny! ROCK ON!

Nine days in. Are you exhausted? Of course not! It’s too much fun for exhaustion! More, more more! And even more! Pass the egg nog! Hand me a piece of pie! We’re still partying! Here’s DAY 9 of our festivities here at Women and Words! We’re so excited to do this and many, many thanks to all the authors who donated books to get in on the fun.

Today’s offerings are listed below, in the order they’ll be given away. So the first name we draw will win Jove Belle’s book, the second will win one of Lee Lynch’s books, and so on.

To enter today’s drawing, leave a comment on this blog entry. Include your email address at the comment prompt (it won’t be seen publicly). To avoid spam-bots, don’t include your email in the body of your comment. You have until 10 PM EST to enter. At that point, we’re doing the drawing and we’ll post the winners here, on the Day 9 entry.

Have fun and good luck!

1. Jove Belle, Indelible

Jove’s back for another round, too! Angie’s a single mom working as a waitress and taking classes, trying to ensure that her young son comes first. No time for love. Luna’s the wild tattoo artist with a soft spot for both and a rep for leaving in the middle of the night. Can these two overcome their differences and learn to love and trust? Win and find out!

2. Lee Lynch, Winner’s Choice from Beggar of Love, The Swashbuckler, or That Old Studebaker

Do I even NEED to tell you about the awesome-ness of major award-winning author Lee Lynch? The Trailblazer? The woman who has not only made lesbian herstory, but has written her take on it through both fiction and nonfiction? I thought not. Choose from one of the above: Beggar of Love, The Swashbuckler, and That Old Studebaker. No lesfic collection is complete without Lee.

3. Sacchi Green, Winner’s Choice from Girl Crazy, Lesbian Cowboys, Lesbian Lust, or Time Well Bent
Here’s one of Sacchi’s anthologies, Lambda-winning Lesbian Cowboys:

If you haven’t read one of Sacchi’s award-winning anthologies, WHY NOT? Here’s your chance, friends. Your choice. The hot n’ bothered Girl Crazy, sexy n’ rough and tumble Lesbian Cowboys, super sizzling Lesbian Lust, or queer history through Time Well Bent. You will not be disappointed.

4. Carrie Carr, To Hold Forever

source: Regal Crest Enterprises
Part of the Lex and Amanda series, this book opens three years after Lex and Amanda start caring for Amanda’s niece in the wake of Amanda’s sister’s stroke. But all is not as they hoped, when hostile relatives and an old adversary returns. Can they remain on the ranch with the family they worked so hard to build? Or will external forces pull everything apart? If you win, you’ll find out!

5. Kristin Marra, Wind and Bones

source: Bold Strokes Books
Award-winning journalist and egotistical Jill returns to her Montana stomping grounds to bury her father and clean up his messes. In addition to that, she’s got to deal with a love from her past, a current hot distraction, and her father’s treacherous legacy. That’s a recipe for a good read, friends!

  1. Another day another go, toward a Happy Christmas, I want to win Lee’s The Swashbuckler please!! please!! have the dog draw me out.

  3. Count me in one more time, and tomorrow is my birthday, sure would be nice to win something for my birthday ;o)

  4. Happy Holidays! I hope to get Jove’s “Indelible” or Carrie Carr’s “To Hold Forever”. I’m sure the other authors are very good but I’ve read most of Carrie’s Lex and Amanda Series… and Jove is one of the people putting this on… so she would be a new author for me… besides, her book cover is just awesome… and something I so could not take with me to work. 🙂

  5. Once upon a time there were three little girls who went to the police academy. And they were each assigned very hazardous duties but I took them away from all that and now they work for me. My name is Charlie.

  6. I love stories with a western feel. All that sweat gives a girl all sorts of ideas, so please count me in for these books. They sound great and one or two of them have been on my wishlist for a long time.

  7. Yes, please….I would loveeeee to have choice 2 or 3…just mentioning it in case Santa’s ears are open and listending!
