DADT On My Mind

I have no good excuse for this post, except that the more-or-less demise of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell has been on my mind. How will things work out when the law has changed but many attitudes haven’t? I pitched an erotica anthology on that theme, to include historical, contemporary, and near-future scenarios, but the publisher felt, probably rightly, that it was too much of a niche-within-a-niche. I’ve written several such stories in historical settings, though, and I feel the urge to share one. (Not to mention that I’ve been either on a train or marching around a trade show in NYC since 6:30 this morning and I don’t have any other ideas just now.)

“Lipstick on Her Collar” appeared originally in my anthology of the same name, and was reprinted in Best Lesbian Erotica 2009. It takes place in Vietnam in 1969, and involves a WAC jeep-jockey and a journalist from Boston. I can’t seem to paste it in here, though, without the lines extending to infinity, so I’ll have to just post a link to it on my blog:
