And Because Writers Write…

A few years ago, Andi and I were both featured in the same issue of Khimairal Ink. That publication has since been put on hiatus, but I’m hoping they will start it up again soon. For those of you who aren’t familiar with it, the folks over at Bedazzled Ink published Khimairal Ink as a sort of mini-anthology. I believe they released it once a month, but it might have been once a quarter. Andi, do you remember?

Today, I decided to share that particular issue with y’all. After all, we here at Women and Words are primarily writers. We do a lot of other things, too, but the whole reason we spend the time to manage and maintain this blog is because we are women who love words and writing and reading and books and did I mention words?

So, here’s a little reminder of the writing that Andi and I do: Khimairal Ink Volume 5, Number 3.

We’d love to see some of the evidence of your writing as well. If you have something to share, post a link in the comments.

Happy writing, folks.

  1. I’ve also had the good fortune to be published in Khimairal Ink. I’ve got stories in Vol. 6, No. 2 (The Gift), Vol. 7, No. 2 (Tracy Arm), and Vol. 7, No. 3 (Forget-Me-Not). I’ve found lots of good stories in there. See them all at http://khimairalink.bedazzledink.com/ki-issues.html.

I do wish there were more general interest lesbian anthologies, both to submit to and to read! Everything has to have a theme, and it’s usually erotica or horror. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

    • I agree, Elaine. I wish there were more options. I’m hoping the folks at Read These Lips (http://www.readtheselips.com/) decide to put out another issue soon. Or the folks at Khimairal Ink could start publishing their e-zine again. Or both!

I obviously am not opposed to erotica. I love to write it. But not every short write involves sex and there’s no real venue for it right now. I keep trying to convince Andi to do another anthology like Skulls and Crossbones, but she’s overbooked with life in general right now.

  2. Read These Lips is an annual, so I’ve been assuming there’ll be another one. I’m hoping to get off my butt and finish something to submit. (I have a story in Take 5.) It’s free, people. Go click on it! Oh, but I see they didn’t do one in 2012. Awww.
