Swag-a-licious

I am unforgivably late posting today. It seems like lately I’m surprised every time I realize that it’s Tuesday evening and I haven’t posted a blog. It’s funny because I was really looking forward to blogging today. You see, I have a question for y’all.

What would you guys like to see an author offer as swag? Everyone has bookmarks (or at lease everyone I know) and that’s cool. Who doesn’t need a bookmark?

But after that, I kind of hit a wall when trying to think of a cool idea that others would enjoy, too.

With that in mind, take a look at my latest attempt at being awesome.

coasters

I made coasters! I’m totally stoked about them, but I’m also really biased because, you know, I made them.

So, can I get a little input? Who would be interested in one of these? Give me a little comment love and if there’s enough interest, I’ll give some away.

Thanks! Y’all rock!

  1. That’s great idea, Jove! It’s a great way to promote a favorite author, every time there’s a gathering. What lesbian isn’t going to take a look before setting her drink down on one of those covers? hehehe

  2. Always in need of coasters 🙂 … have you thought about short stories or novel excerpts on el-cheapo flash drives? Could even have an audio file or two.

The thing with solid object giveaways (as opposed to digital ones) is ofttimes we in the rest of the world put up our hands only to discover that it’s only for U.S-ians, so …to all authors everywhere actually … please be clear about this upfront.

  3. I put free stories up on my website. How would the flash drive idea work? Would it be something exclusive? Or? I love the concept, now I just need to figure out the details…

  4. Casters and magnets (for the refrigerator) would be great! My fridge is covered with magnets, I love seeing them and moving them around. Also coffee mugs are good. I do like your coasters! nice to have one or two of those 🙂

  5. Coasters would be awesome!! I’ve never seen them and I need some!! Another can’t miss is coffee mugs. Magnets would also be a big hit, especially if you can make them look like a butterfly or dragonfly. An autographed 8×10 laminated cover could be nice….

  6. i have enough bookmarks (by this point in my lesfic life) to choke a butch…but coasters to quench her thirst with just might soothe that rough throat…brilliant idea, Jove!

  7. Jove I love the coasters you have made. I would like stubby holders, hmmm I think you would probably call them can holders or bottle holders. You know those things that keep your drink cold while you are drinking it. Or key rings with the book’s cover in it would make good talking points when people spot your cool keys.

  8. Nice coasters! Pens would be cool as author swag, as would lined notebooks or notepads featuring a book cover or a collage of several different book covers.

  12. I think that’s a great idea. If you gave one away with each one of your books, everyone would have to buy every book to get a complete coaster collection. If you made it an exclusive offer to your website more buyers will be inclined to use it rather than amazon, hence more profit and the cost of the coasters will be covered. The fans will be happy and you will increase your website visitor numbers.
