Hootenanny Follow-Up

Winner of the Women and Words limited edition refrigerator magnet (Did you see how I made it sound all fancy there?) is Deej! Woo! Congratulations!

It’s December 30 and a full week after we concluded the Hootenanny. You’d think a week would be enough time to sort myself and be ready to resume normal life. It’s not.

However, it is just about enough time for the dust to have settled with all the hooting details, so I figured I should check in with y’all and make sure that things are settling into place on your end (or ends, I guess) as well.

If you won a book from me during the Hootenanny, I have good news! We (meaning my wife) shipped your books yesterday. Be on the lookout for a manilla mailer.

If you won a book from Bold Strokes Books and requested paperback, please keep in mind that the powers that be over there are actually in Australia at the moment. They’ll be back around 1/8 and the books will ship out after they arrive home.

I don’t know of any other delays, so if you’re getting worried because you haven’t received your booty (pirate speak for free book), it’s totally okay to check in with me. Or Andi. Or both. Just hit reply on the notification email and send me a little “Wazzup!” message. I’ll see what I can learn about your errant prize.

20141230_110730One last thing. I somehow ended up with a spare Women and Words refrigerator magnet. If you think it’s cool and would like it, drop a comment below. I’ll get it in the mail for you. I’m thinking that international shipping won’t be too bad on such a small item, so if you live somewhere other than the US, go for it. However, if we discover that it actually costs $20-$50 to ship a magnet, please understand that just ain’t going to happen. We’ll work something else out. I promise. I’ll draw a winner on Friday. Maybe Saturday. Or, if only one person enters, I’ll just send it out. πŸ™‚

Happy New Years, y’all! Stay safe.

    1. Woo! There’s a long time between now and the next Hootenanny. You’re just going to have to come back regularly and check out the book giveaway events we host throughout the year!

  1. I adore refrigerator magnets! But not as much as i πŸ’– Jove and Andi. Thank you again for a great big joyous Hootenanny. A huge thanks to all the authors and publishers who donated books that eventually found new homes around the world.

    1. Claire, you actually won a book from Joan Opyr. She’s the kind of writer I would like to be when I grow up. If you haven’t heard from Joan, let me know. I’ll check and see what’s up!

  4. I don’t need another fridge magnet but it is awfully cute. I just wanted to thank you and Andi once again for the highlight of December for me. Well of course there are those pesky holidays. Thanks for letting me win Rest Home Runaways by Clifford Henderson. Just finished it this morning and loved it.

  5. I’d love that magnet if it does not cost much to send to Canada. Even though I didn’t win any books this year loved the Hootenany! Great job!

  7. Looks like there’s a market for your magnets. Sell @ GCLS? I sent my 3 books to the winner of The Swashbuckler, etc. media mail yesterday (Monday 12/29). Thanks for the follow up. Lee

    1. You know, Andi and I talked about selling some swag as a fund raiser for different charities. We all have things we’re passionate about. Andi has a couple of no kill shelters she supports (because she’s awesome) and I love organizations like ARC and Special Olympics. And it would be great to do something for Isis House in Cate’s honor. Anyway, we keep tossing around the idea, but get stalled on the logistics. Eventually we’ll nail it down. We always do. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks! The Hootenanny is a lot of fun, but it only works because so many authors and publishers are generous with their time and resources. I love this event. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Thanks for hanging with us this year!

  8. The fridge magnet is really cool, almost as cool as the whole hootenanny give aways. Thank you to Jove and Andi for the opportunity to win a couple of Lynn Ames’ eBooks. Such a fabulous treat. Happy New Year to you all.

  11. I do love Women and Words and would enjoy a magnet, however, I’m actually entering because I’d love to give it to a writer friend of mine. I’d like to encourage her to engage in this community. Writing can get lonely sometimes. Happy New Year!
