I am STILL shamelessly pimping this call because I am a co-editor of the project, along with another Women and Words blogger queen, R.G. Emanuelle. We’re doing a second volume of food stories (F/F romance/erotica). Our first, All You Can Eat, was a Lambda finalist. NewTown Writers Press is pleased to announce that our annual print anthology, Off the Rocks, is now open to submissions for Volume 19. For Off the Rocks, we are seeking poetry and prose from the LGBT community and its advocates. We also invite submissions of photography and artwork to be considered for the anthology’s front cover. The theme of this year’s anthology is “Taking Pride in the Past.” Fiction, non-fiction, and poetry should explore some aspect of LGBT history―and herstory: from outrage to uprisings, visibility to victories. Fiction and non-fiction submissions should be a maximum of 5,000 words. Reprints are acceptable. We will consider up to three submissions per person. Vitality Magazine (paying venue!) is accepting submissions and seeks short stories, flash fiction, and poetry with LGBTQ protagonists.

Aussie and Kiwi LGBTQ writers, this one’s for you! Outstanding stories is taking submissions for its short story competition, the premier event for regional LGBTQ writers. 750 words, and this year’s theme is “Deep.” Click here for details and click here for an article in the Star Observer. Luna Station Quarterly, an ezine for speculative fiction by women, just opened for submissions for another issue. Deadline is August 15. Information on what they do and don’t want (full disclosure; I am an editor there).

TQ Review (Trans/Queer) journal is accepting submissions for its inaugural issue as well as others. Check it out.
