October is my favorite month of the year. Aside from the fact that it’s my birth month, October also brings with it my favorite season and favorite holiday, Halloween.
I love Halloween for many reasons and one of them is the all the spooky stories that pop up. I enjoy being a part of that storytelling and, in fact, I have a story in Ylva Publishing’s latest Halloween anthology, Tales of the Grimoire, which is now available for pre-order for ebooks. The books will be available for purchase on October 23, and the print version will published soon.
My story is called “Lizzie Borden Took An Axe.” Yes, it’s about the notorious—but acquitted—murderess. It tells the story of the double murder of Borden’s parents, but with a twist.
AND I’m gearing up for the release of a novella series that stars that beloved creature of the night—the vampire! Well, vampires. There’s a bunch of them in there. But I’m still not at liberty to say much about it, so you’ll have to wait on those details. (Believe me, it’s not fun holding back for me, either.)
So, to celebrate Halloween, October, my birthday, the release of Grimoire, vampires, vampire novellas, and everything else, I’m giving away a free copy of Twice Bitten, my first vampire novel. If you’re interested in it, leave a comment to this post and you’ll be entered into the drawing. I will pick a winner at random on Sunday, October 18, by 6 p.m. and announce it next week (I’ll let the winner know no later than Monday, October 19).
My last remaining kitty, Velvette Jones (I just lost his mother a couple of weeks ago), gets very bored and lonely now, so maybe I’ll let him choose the winner. I think that would make him happy.
Fiona lost her mortality unwillingly to a woman she once loved. Now she wanders through the decades, a vampire in search of a soulmate. After 200 years, she thinks she’s found her, in an upper-class family in New York City at the turn of the 20th century. Her name is Rose, and if only she will come to her willingly, Fiona will have her eternal companion. But Rose loves another, so Fiona sets in motion a twisted scheme that involves the woman Rose loves and a betrayal that will lead Rose into transformation. Will Rose succumb to Fiona’s machinations and forever lose the woman she truly loves? Or will she find a way to foil the vampire’s devious plan and save her soul – and her Beloved’s life? She’s running out of options and, worse, out of time.
So, if that appeals to you in any way whatsoever, come on and enter. Nothing will jump out and bite you…unless you want it to.
