Happy Thursday, everyone. So, last week, in celebration of all things October, Halloween, and creatures of the underworld, I did a drawing for a copy of Twice Bitten.
My kitty, Velvette Jones, gets very bored since he lost his brother, Boo Boo Kitty, and his mother, Mamma, this year. So, I told him that I needed him to do a very important job for me. I needed him to pick a winner for the drawing. He was very meticulous and careful about the whole process, and he made sure that it was all done fairly and squarely.
Kat Wardyla! Yay, congratulations, Kat!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the drawing, and a special thanks for all the kind words and thoughtful comments. I truly appreciate them.
The Halloween season gets me a revved up to jump back into my work. I’ve been very busy with many different projects, so I haven’t been able to focus on my vampires as much as I’d like, but the itch is there and the thoughts are flowing, even if my fingers aren’t.
It’s hard to believe that it’s already October 22. Time sure does fly when you’re busy taking care of business. But, please, take a moment out of your lives to appreciate what you have. The fact that we’re women and can read and are allowed to read should be embraced because it’s something that not all women around the world can say. And the fact that we have made the choice to be writers and have the privilege to pursue those goals is something that so many can only dream about.
I don’t mean to get all maudlin here, I just have to remind myself to stop and smell the roses, and while I’m at it, I feel compelled to remind others as well.
And with that in mind, have a wonderful weekend. Go forth and read and write.
