Hootenanny 2015 — Day 8

Christmas Present With Golden Sparkling BackgroundOH, my aching sides. I’ve been laughing so hard because everybody here is super-stoked about the opening of the latest Star Wars movie yesterday. As soon as they’re done here, the crew will probably hit a matinee. Or twenty. There are reindeer running around pretending to be ewoks (I know, right? Ewoks don’t have four legs, but whatever) and then the merry elves dragged out their toy light sabers, but it’s hard for them to do deep baritones, so if you can imagine Darth Vader on helium, you’ll have some idea of what that was like. They’re currently out back, playing Stormtroopers vs. Jedi and omg, I can’t even. This definitely calls for MOAR EGGNOG!

Tucker can't get enough of the Star Wars trailers.
Tucker can’t get enough of the Star Wars trailers.

My lovelies, join with us in extending a HUGE THANK YOU to all the authors and publishers who put up boo-coo books and swag this year. This event would not be possible without you, and we’re always so humbled by how graciously you give to participate. And thanks to you, dear readers, for all your support over the past year. We hope this event demonstrates a bit how much we appreciate that support.

And Jove, seriously. Banner madness! LUV!

Let’s get the business end out of the way. Each day of books is a different drawing, so in order to win books, you need to enter every day. It’s super-easy to do that, amigos y amigas. Just leave a comment on this blog. BOOM. Entered. Make sure you include your email address in the comment fill-out form, but NOT in the comment body because there are skeezy spambots on contract with the Committee To Ruin Fun Things, and they will totally suck your email right up if they find it posted in a public space. Not fun. Anyway, the elves will keep it safe in the back, because nobody but you knows those light sabers are toys.

We close the drawing every night at 10 PM EST US (here’s your world clock) at which point the merry elves will put their light sabers down and engage in the festivity of the drawing. Once we have our winners, we will notify them by email and then we post the names right here on the blog. If you see your name here but you haven’t received an email, check your spam filter. We give the books away in the order they appear. That is, the first name drawn wins the first book, the second wins the second, and so on. Because I’m pretty sure The Force couldn’t even help us if we tried to match people to books by request. Yikes.

Authors, if you’ve got anything offered today, please don’t enter the drawing. Cuz, you know, not fun for you or anybody else. We’ve also delineated where a publisher or author will ship a paperback. If there’s no delineation, that means they’ll ship anywhere. Except possibly Tatooine.

And don’t forget to get in on our Rafflecopter concurrent giveaways. The Rafflecopter runs until Dec. 23, 10 PM EST US. You only need to enter ONCE for the whole thing, so if you forgot to do that, click the reindeer below.

(hint: “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas“)

Crazy elves and reindeer too
Celebrate the day
They have tons of books around
All to give away!

The holidays will soon be here
Now you crazy crew
Show us all the books back there
Bunches! All for you!

When the clock is striking ten
When the drawing’s done
That’s when things get really nuts
And soon the books are gone

That’s okay, there’s more in here
stacked up by the door
Another round is good to go
Tomorrow! There are more!

So. Howsabout we go check out the goodies? WOOO! Have fun and good luck!

Just as she thinks she’s solved one of her problems, Tal falls into a meticulously planned trap that threatens her title, her new family, and her freedom. The treasure map Emma and Randi seek belonged to Thomasina Farris, a pirate who disappeared from the Caribbean in 1715. Did Captain Tommy steal an entire treasure from a Spanish galleon and escape? Was she convicted of piracy and hanged by her neck? Did she die of a broken heart when she lost the woman she loved? When Emma discovers Captain Tommy’s fate, she must decide her own as well, choosing between romance…or revenge.

She’s done nothing but work in an attempt to dull her pain. But this Christmas Eve, something unexpected happens: Ebbie runs into Carol, the woman whose heart she broke ten years ago, and she realizes that her feelings for her are still very much alive. 6. Well it finally looks like Christmas here. The ground is white and the rescue elves came back after their shift was over. They got gooned up on the last of the spiked nog and went out in the front yard to make show angels Looked more like a wrestling try outs for WWF. They all passed out around the tree once we got them back inside. One fell into the tree, so we just put an hook on his shirt collar and turned him into an ornament. They are just now waking up to the smell of coffee. Happy Hootenanny!
