Lesvos Lesfic 2016
What can I say. It’s over.
Five days of great fun with a group of writers, editors, and readers of lesfic. We climbed to hilltop chapels. We hiked around ancient remains. We swam. We ate. We drank. We read to each other, and one of us got a big red sunburnt nose. Okay, I got a big red sunburnt nose.
Sandra Gerth (a.k.a. Jae) gave two master classes on a roof top terrace with ice cold refreshments and the softest of breezes and a view of the beach.
We went out every evening for dinner. It wasn’t always planned that way – we just bumped into each other along the strip and decided then and there on where to eat.
I live here, so I know what a lovely place Skala Eressos is. I planned to retire here but ended up coming early and working remotely instead. It took me ten years to make that shift in my life. I know what I’m doing here and what this place is and how it works. But it moved to another level this week with the making of new friends and having such a lovely time with people who were so geared into what I love best.
This was a good gig. A great gig, and we’re doing it again next year. Ylva has agreed to sponsor it again. Thank you, Ylva.
Anyone who loves lesfic is most welcome here for our 2017 event. Skala Eressos was made for it. All we need is you.
