Look out New Orleans, here comes Bouchercon!

I’m in sunny, steamy New Orleans, counting down the hours to the beginning of Bouchercon, the world mystery convention! It’s one of the largest conferences I’ve ever attended and the largest gathering of crime writers in the world. Through the years I’ve met and seen some amazing authors including a couple of my heroes, Sue Grafton, Lisa Unger, Harlan Coben, and Elizabeth Peters. You can check the con out here. If you’re a fan of crime fiction, it’s a must attend at least once in your life!

This year I’ll be moderating a humor panel called Jive Talking on Thursday with some amazing panelists: Ryan Aldred, Shelley Costa, Ray Daniel, Parnell Hall, and Kendel Lynn. Right after that, I’ll be on an LGBT panel moderated by the coolest Scot I know, Catriona McPherson. It’s called Relax: The Challenge of LGBTQ Mysteries. My fellow panelists include Joel Gomez-Dossi, Christa Faust, R. Jean Reid, and Stephanie Gayle. R. Jean Reid is also known as our very own JM Redmann, and is someone I greatly admire since it was her Micky Knight series that got me writing in the first place.

It’s going to be a crazy time in the French Quarter, and I can’t wait!
