I have a confession. I’m not the most organized person. Recently, I decided to sort my emails. I had emails dating back to 2014 still in my inbox. Yikes!
Another confession. I live for vacation. At my last office job, I had a Post-it note on my computer monitor that listed the countdowns for all my time off for the calendar year, including random holidays. Every morning, when I sat down at my desk, before I prepared a cup of tea, I ticked off a day. I couldn’t even wait until the end of the business day.
For me, though, getting out of bed isn’t easy. Confession number three: I despise mornings. When the alarm goes off, the first word out of my mouth isn’t family friendly. My better half skirts around me while getting ready for work.
Despite my lack of organization skills, I’m a whiz when it comes to packing for vacation. The only thing that stumps me is deciding how many books to pack. On more than one occasion, I’ve had to hop into a bookstore to stock up. My partner thinks I do this intentionally to visit bookstores around the world. Hand on heart, I don’t—did you hear that crack of thunder?
When e-readers first hit the market, I was skeptical. Could I adjust to not holding a physical book? Confession four: I’m a spine cracker. Before I dig into any book, I have to bend the book this way and that to make it feel like mine.
The lure of having hundreds of books on one device, though, urged me to try one. It took me less than a day to realize I’d been a fool not to hop on the e-reader bandwagon from the get-go.
Now, when I go on holiday, I have plenty of books. I still pack a couple of paperbacks, in case I need them. And, I may tell my beautiful and patient better half that I need to pop into a bookshop for the return flight in case my Kindle battery dies, knowing it probably won’t. Please, don’t tell her that. I’m pretty sure she suspects, but ignorance can be bliss when it comes to certain aspects of relationships. She’s not a book person. She just doesn’t understand.
Are you going on a vacation soon? Planning time at the beach or pool? If you answered yes to either question, or if you’re like me and like to stockpile books just in case, I’ve got great news for you. Seven authors and I are discounting some of our best-selling lesbian romance novels. Not to be a name dropper, but I kinda have to be in this situation, I’ve enlisted: Harper Bliss, Suzie Carr, J.A. Armstrong, Miranda MacLeod, Jea Hawkins, Em Stevens, and Noelle Winters. These authors and I have dropped the prices of more than twenty e-books. Now that I have your attention, click this link to see all the goodies on offer. Seriously, you don’t want to miss this chance. The sale starts on May 20th ends May 26th.
