So let’s talk a little bit about Flat Flynn. To celebrate of the publication of my seventh book, I’m doing a couple of new things. One is a new letter to my fans I’m posting on my website the last of the month called Read and Write on, Jessie. On the website, you can sign up for my newsletter, which I’ll be revamping very soon as well. I’m also resurrecting something we did a few years back while on vacation without my wife Betty. We went to Walgreens, blew up a headshot of my girl, and created Flat Betty with tape and a Popsicle stick. Flat Betty had some crazy adventures with us in place of the real thing. In that light, I’d like to welcome Flat Flynn! Keep an eye out on my FB pages to see what kind of trouble she’s finding! I’m going to post the latest and greatest Flat Flynn adventures here so you can see what this is all about.
Here’s Flynn last week when we left for spring vacation. She was so excited to head to Florida! Unfortunately her creator and our roommate came down with a sinus infection and bronchitis a couple of days before the outbound flight, so it was a bit of a rough start. That being said, we are surviving!
We arrived on San Marco in the middle of the night, and managed to get checked in. Angel and me and Henry the Sloth and Flynn were sooooooo happy to call it a night so we could get ready for our adventures in the morning.
The next day we had a grand time searching for seashells and basking in the sun,. I caught someone in the sunset. Who is it?
Flynn had her first Airboat ride. She was a little queasy when she was done, but the rest of us thought it was the bomb! How fast do these things go, anyway?
The days passed fast, of course. Seashells were found.
So the trip had finally wound down and we landed at MSP a few hours ago. I admit to being relieved to be home, and Flat Flynn told me she was happy to rest her head of familiar pillows too. It was great fun, and now, it’s back to the real world. Sigh. I’ll dream of a worm moon and beaches and NO snakes!
